I have been involved with
Shih Tzu’s since 2000. My first being a male from Queensland. I began
showing my boy in Sydney and I don’t mind saying I had no idea what I was
suppose to do. With lots of phone calls and information from books I
struggled through. To date I have 5 Shih Tzu’s sharing my home and life.
My line is predominantly Gold and White in colour but I have introduced the
stunning Black and White into my family. I am very selective about when I
breed and always ensure my dogs are in peak condition. The care of Shih
Tzu's is time consuming but if this is the breed for you then you don't mind
the dedication required to maintain a great looking coat and a beautiful
healthy dog. I allow my dogs the freedom to run around the yard during the
day Their coats don't suffer and they are extremely well muscled. They think
they own the place and insist on knowing who is visiting.
During the hot months
they reside in their own air conditioned room. With the amount coat they
feel the heat more than we do. We actually built the room for the dogs just
so they were comfortable. It works out really well as when it is too cold or
too hot I can groom my kids in comfort. You might think they are spoilt, and
I agree, but they are worth it.
Along the way there have been some wonderful people guiding me and to them
all I say a heartfelt thanks. My main aim is to promote the Shih Tzu as a Pure
Bred Dog and maintain a sound quality in my dogs, a good temperament and an
overall good disposition. I wouldn't be where I am today without the
support and patience of my Husband. He is always there watching over us at
dog shows, filming the dogs and making sure we have time to eat and have
that much needed cuppa.
My thanks to:

Wonderful Husband Phil
